Walter John Cotton ‘Wally’

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Walter John Cotton, affectionately known as “Wally”, who passed away peacefully at George Eliot Hospital, Nuneaton, on 13th June 2026, aged 74 years.

A dearly loved brother of Stephen, Linda, Jane & Mark, a much-loved uncle to Kim, Lee, Carl, Craig, Lewis & Paige, and a loyal friend to many. Wally will be remembered for his kind heart, his wonderful sense of humour, and the warmth he brought to those around him.

Wally had a lifelong love of the outdoors and found great happiness in spending time fishing and shooting. Whether enjoying the peace of the countryside, sharing stories with friends, or simply appreciating nature, these were the moments that brought him true contentment. He leaves behind many treasured memories that will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.

A funeral service to celebrate Wally’s life will be held on Monday 20th July 2026 at 12:30pm at St Mary’s Church, Atherstone, followed by burial at Atherstone Cemetery.

Following the burial, family and friends are warmly invited to join us for a celebration of Wally’s life at Kim’s home, where we will come together to share memories, stories, and laughter in honour of a life well lived.
