Nora Winston (1930 – 2026)
Nora Winston passed away peacefully at Linden Lodge on Saturday 4th April 2026, aged 95. Beloved wife of the late Ernest Winston, she was the devoted mum to Karen, Andrew, Susan and Helen, and a cherished grandmother to Charlotte, Hayley, Kimberley, Jason, Nicky, Gemma, Daniel, Alexe and Tom. She was also a proud great‑grandmother to Luca, Ellis, Ezra, Sammy, William, Oli, Nile, Amara and little Florrie, each of whom brought her immense joy.
Nora lived a life full of warmth, resilience and community spirit. Many will fondly remember her as the former landlady of the Warren House at 31 Moore Street, Blackpool, where her kindness, humour and welcoming nature made the Guest House a true gathering place. She had a gift for making people feel at home, and her presence left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her.
A service to celebrate Nora’s life will take place at the Heart of England Crematorium, Nuneaton, on Thursday 7th May 2026 at 1:15pm. Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, may be made to the Linden Lodge Residents Fund, in gratitude for the care and companionship she received.
Following the service, the family warmly invites everyone to join them at Polesworth Club to share memories, stories and the comfort of being together in honour of Nora’s long and well‑loved life.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
