William Frederick Jones

It is with great sadness, but with deep gratitude for a long and well-lived life, that the family of William Frederick Jones “Bill” announce his passing on 13th February 2026, at home aged 101 years.

Beloved and devoted husband of the late Betty, much loved and cherished father to Shirley and dear father-in-law to Robin. A proud and loving grandfather to Shaun, Neil and Ruth, and a dear great grandfather to Jessica, Orla and Tom. Bill was also a loyal friend to many and a familiar, friendly presence in the lives of all who knew him.

Bill lived a remarkable life spanning more than a century, touching countless people along the way with his warmth, kindness and gentle nature. He will be remembered for his love of family, his quiet strength, and the many stories, smiles and memories he shared with those around him. His presence brought comfort, laughter and wisdom, and he will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.

A service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at St Michael & All Angels Church, Wood End on Thursday 26th March 2026 at 10:00am, followed by a committal at Sutton Coldfield Crematorium at 11:30am.

Afterwards, family and friends are warmly invited to join together for a wake to celebrate Bill’s life at Wood End Working Men’s Club, 57 Tamworth Road, Wood End, CV9 2QH

Bill leaves behind a lifetime of love, memories and friendship that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
