It is with great sadness the family announce the passing of their beloved Roland, who sadly passed away on 16th October 2025 aged 86. A wonderful Brother, Brother in law and much loved Uncle Wig, now reunited with his adored wife Vivienne.
Known to all his family & friends as Wigger, he was a true sportsman who adored his football, cricket, athletics and his other love Manchester United.
He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
A Funeral service to celebrate Wigger’s life will take place on Friday 21st November 2025, 3.30pm at The Heart of England Crematorium, following the service you are invited to join the family at Nuneaton Bowling Club, Higham Lane, Nuneaton, CV11 6AX to raise a toast and share further memories of this wonderful man.

You will be remembered fondly, Wigger
I had the pleasure of sitting opposite Wigger for a while at the Nuneaton Telegraph (office above the Co-op in the mid to late 1990s) and recall, in particular, his reaction on the occasions when copy failed to send due to modem overload: He would put his head back, close his eyes and blaspheme very slowly, quietly and deliberately. I was very fond of him and remember this with a smile.
